XP Versions
What XP builds does StyleXP support?

We currently support Windows XP Home, Professional Build 2600, Server Build 3505, and .NET Server Beta 3 Build 3590. Also, Version 1.01L supports Windows XP Service Pack 1.


Active Desktop Not Found
I downloaded your product, and when it rebooted, it said that my Active Desktop HTML file could not be found. Now when you right click on the Desktop, the menu comes up without an Active Desktop option. What happened to it, and how do I get it back?

This problem occurs because Toothpaste has its own .theme file, which does not properly copy over the information from your current .theme file.

Right click on the windows background. Click "Properties" on the menu. Select "Windows XP" as your current theme (or "Windows Classic") and your Active Desktop should come back.


Line 510, "Failed to Communicate with Helper"
I keep getting an Error Report on Line 510 that says "Data Area Passed Too Small".

If you do not have the latest version (1.00) or Style XP has not expired, then please try to remove the current version (uninstall) and then reinstall.


Line 621, "Cannot access file"

I keep getting an Error Report on Line 621 that says "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

From the "Logons" tab in Style XP, in the "Virus Free" section, please uncheck "Always Rebuild Exe".


Installation Errors
I can't install Style XP. It keeps on giving me errors like "The installation key is invalid." or "Could not apply the theme. An error occurred while enabling Style XP".

First, uninstall. Then download the latest version of Style XP. This error has been fixed in the latest release of StyleXP.


Hardware Change
Whenever I try to run Style XP, I get errors that say "Registration Failed," "Unable to set registration information," "The hardware key has changed more than the allowed amount."

This has happened because you've recently changed hardware and the registration key issued to you is not valid anymore. Please send an e-mail to us containing your Order Number and your new Style XP Hardware ID (should start with IAA). If you do not have your Order Number handy, then please provide any information you can about your order in the email.
